Dr. LaConti is a board-certified rheumatologist. He is certified in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound by the American College of Rheumatology (RhMSUS). Dr. LaConti completed both his M.D. and Ph.D. at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. His Ph.D. studies focused on the identification of tumor genes in pancreatic cancer models, and the use of monoclonal antibodies to diagnose and treat different cancer types. After his research was completed, his clinical focus became rheumatology.
He completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He has published multiple articles in rheumatology and oncology journals and given several lectures at local and national conferences in his field. Dr. LaConti is a member of the Speaker’s Bureau for multiple pharmaceutical companies.
He is married with two children. He enjoys swimming with his children, sport fishing, and visiting his family in New Jersey and the Florida Keys. He speaks both English and Spanish.
